The Rescue Diver Course teaches you to learn to prevent and manage problems in the water. You will sharp your dive skills, by knowing you can help other divers if needed. During the course, you learn how to be a good buddy by practicing problem solving drills until they become second nature.
The Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with minor and major dive emergencies, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue drills, you learn what to be aware of and how to respond.
During some rescue scenarios, you practice your knowledge and skills.
Minimum age required 12.
To be Advanced Open Water certified or higher.
20 logged dives.
To have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within prior 24 months.
Minimum 2 days
4 Shore dives
- Self rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency equipment management
- Rescue panicking divers
- Rescue unresponsive divers
Basic scuba equipment:
- Scuba tank
- Buoyancy compensator (BCD)
- Wet or dry suit
- Fins & mask
- Bottom timer device + dive planning tables or dive computer
- Pocket mask
