EFR INSTRUCTOR 2000+ dives LINGUE Italian, English Luca is born in Genoa and grows up there since 1984. Since his first childhood he is a fish in the water when he starts free diving, spear fishing and scuba diving, all inspired by his parent's same passion. When he turns 13, he and his family move to Santa Margherita to live this passion for the water even more. Driven by his love for water Luca becomes an "odd-job man" in diving centres at the age of 16, until a couple of years later he becomes a dive master. Then scuba diving turns his profession, helped by Luca Tassara an Giovanni Radicella. Besides this Luca is also working as a cable/light assistant for "Sopra e Sotto il mare". During this period Luca learns about bio-educational activity from Luca Tassara. When Luca becomes an instructor, his travels begin in Sardinia, and continue later on with lots of overseas experience; Cruising through South Africa, New Zealand, but especially Australia. When Luca comes back home he decides to use his experience to set up the "Il Grande Blu" diving centre, with his dad... Luca likes to have fun when he is working, and he tries to pass his passion for this sport to everyone who dives with him. When Luca is under the water he likes to think: "There's no rush" Other interests he has are coffee and his mum's cooking, as well as basically any kind of water-sport. Particularly he loves surfing, free diving and sailing. Other than that, rugby is still his landmark. Soon after he and his family move the region of At the age of 18 Giangio moves to Lecce for military service. This is where his passion for the sea is born, and after a few years he starts his adventure as a scubadiver and free diver with Alessandro Nicotra's diving school in Alessandria. Once married to Luisa they move to Genoa, where his love for sailing grows more each day and where he participates in races as a private and professional skipper until they decide to move to Santa Margherita, to build their own dreamhouse. From today onwards Giangio decided to devide his time in 2: his craft as a blacksmith and scuba diving guide in the Portofino National Park, of which by now he practically knows every single rock. An untiring worker, his philosophy and ideals are simply reaching every one of his dreams without considering how tired it will make him or how much time it will cost him. Other big passions are animals, grappa and rugby. |
